After nearly three decades of dedicated service to the soccer community, Coach Jason Lahm is retiring from coaching. From his early days on the pitch to his leadership on the sidelines and in the boardroom, Jason’s impact on the sport and our youth has been profound.
A Lifelong Passion for the Game
Jason’s soccer journey began in 1977-1978 with Kaukauna recreational soccer. His dedication to the sport led him to the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, where he played for two years as a wing defender. After college, he continued to compete in adult leagues in both Madison and the Fox Valley, never losing his love for the game.
Decades of Mentorship
Jason’s coaching career is a testament to his commitment to player development across all levels:
- Club Leadership: He spent years as a Head Coach at Electric City Soccer and River Surge, coaching multiple boys’ and girls’ youth teams.
- High School Excellence: Jason served as a coach for Kaukauna High School (2017-2023) and, most recently, as the Varsity Coach for Wrightstown High School.
- Off the Field: He dedicated over a decade to the Electric City Soccer Club board of directors (2010-2021).
Jason holds a USSF “D” Coaching License and is a licensed US Soccer referee, reflecting his commitment to ongoing education and the highest standards of the sport.
A Philosophy of Growth
Coach Jason’s impact went beyond wins and losses. He focused on the fundamentals, believing that the pursuit of excellence starts with the basics. He created a positive environment where players were encouraged to push beyond their comfort zones. As Jason often reminded his teams:
For Jason, the greatest reward was watching his players grow not just as athletes, but as young adults.
A Final Word from Coach Jason
As he hangs up the whistle, Jason shares this parting message with the community:
“I retire grateful — proud of teaching the basics, embracing mistakes as lessons, and helping grow confident players on and off the field. Keep pushing beyond your comfort zone, work hard when no one is watching, and do things that bring you joy.”
Thank you, Coach Jason, for 19 years of leadership, passion, and heart. We’ll see you on the pitch!
