Pillars of the Academy Program

Our Academy program is built upon four fundamental pillars, essential for the holistic development of our young players:

What Sets Academy Soccer Apart from Recreational Soccer?

Academy Soccer at RSFC offers a more comprehensive and intensive training experience compared to our Recreational (Rec) Soccer program:

Enhanced Training: Academy players benefit from an advanced curriculum tailored to their skill level, designed to maximize their potential.

Year-Round Program: Academy Soccer is available throughout the year, providing continuous opportunities for growth and improvement, during fall, winter and spring.  Rec Soccer, on the other hand operates during fall and spring.

Skill-Based Team Formation: Academy teams are formed based on players' abilities, ensuring a competitive environment that pushes them to their limits. Rec teams, in contrast, are formed randomly.

Inter-Club Competition: Academy players exclusively compete against other clubs, fostering a higher level of gameplay and challenging their skills against formidable opponents. Rec teams may face each other within River Surge FC.

Flexible Team Structure: Academy teams have flexibility and may change from week to week based on player performance and team dynamics. Rec teams remain set for the entire season.

Commitment and Expectations: Academy players are expected to demonstrate a higher level of commitment, attending two training sessions per week and embracing the challenges that come with intensive development.

Coaching Excellence

At RSFC Soccer, our Academy program thrives on the dedication and expertise of volunteer coaches. These coaches build strong connections with players, ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment. While RSFC staff provides training support, volunteer coaches take the helm during games.
