River Surge FC is looking for a Technical Director to oversee early player development programs and lead curriculum development for the club.   This role will provide player development resources for coaches and help facilitate the resolution of player development questions.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching youth soccer, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for nurturing young talent. 

This is a paid position with an estimated workload of 5-10 hours a week.  Due to the flexible nature of this role and variable workload this will be a contract position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Early Player Development: Oversee the development programs for players aged 4U to Academy, ensuring a structured and progressive pathway.

  • Curriculum Development: Lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive soccer curriculum that aligns with the club’s philosophy and development goals. This role will also be tasked with helping to effectively communicate internally and externally, the club’s development pathways.

  • Coach Support: Develop and provide player development resources for coaches, including training plans, session templates, and educational materials.

  • Player Development Facilitation: Assist the DOC, coaches, and parents in resolving questions and concerns related to player development and ensuring a supportive environment for all players. 

  • Training Oversight: Assist the DOC and trainers in monitoring and evaluating training sessions to ensure they meet the club’s standards and objectives.

  • Video Technical Analysis: Assist the DOC in providing qualitative feedback on training sessions and player development progress through the utilization of game and practice video

  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations and standards set by USYS and WYSA and

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other key roles within the club

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in youth soccer coaching or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of youth soccer development principles and practices.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to create and implement effective training programs.

  • Proficiency in using performance analysis tools and software.

  • Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., U.S. Soccer Youth License) are highly desirable.
